Google Launches Local Real-Time AI Music Model Magenta RealTime 2
Google's Magenta team has launched Magenta RealTime 2 (MRT2), a local real-time music AI model, including a 2.4B high-quality version and a 230M high-speed version, both optimized for Apple Silicon. The model uses a frame-by-frame generation architecture, reducing latency from 3 seconds to approximately 200 milliseconds, supporting text, MIDI, and audio style control. Simultaneously, the free instrument app Jam and DAW plugin were launched, enabling low-latency improvisation ensemble on Mac.
